I just got the wall of text bug in chrome after I updated my wifi driver.
clicked the lock button on the adressbar
selected site settings.
on the list that appreared, I changed images to "allow".
fixed.

I just had this bug occur and selecting to allow "Insecure content" fixed this.

It worked on one of my laptops, but not the other.

I updated one of my laptops (the one in my truck) and now i get the wall of text. I have tried Manu's post 24. Either I am not doing something right or its just not working for me.
I put djforums.com in the 2nd space as shown in manu's screen shot. Nothing is working.

When I had this issue last time. I couldn't get it co-operate, then a day or so later, it suddenly started to work correctly out of the blue.
I have restarted etc.

The site-wide announcement went away in late January (2024). Here's the text:

If you have Chrome rendering problems, do this quick fix. Type this in address bar of chrome:

chrome://net-internals/#hsts

Refresh the DJF page and the page should be rendered correctly.

The Reason
-------------

DJF does not use HTTPS, secured hypertext protocol (yet). DJF uses the much older and insecure regular HTTP. As a result, browsers are beginning to crack down on not having HTTPS. Chrome is first, but many others will likely do so soon.

DJF Admins have looked into implementing HTTPS on DJF, but it is relatively expensive ($1000+), so it hasn't been done. Maybe it's time for a donation drive.

Thanks buddy... yeah I thought that was the jist of it but I tried that & it didnt work, so I thought maybe there might have been another avenue in that thread but, apparently not. So, just FYI the laptop in my truck is useless with DJF.

I'm seeing that Chrome has been changed (by Google) to not allow the workaround I posted. I'm looking for the latest workaround.

EDIT:

Here's the new workaround. You have to enable insecure content on a site-by-site basis. Here's the walkthrough. Go to DJF. Then select the "Not secure" box in the address bar.



Then, select "Site Settings" from the dropdown box:



And finally, select "Allow" on the "Insecure content" line.



From there, close all Chrome browers. Then open Chrome and go to DJF. The formatting should look like we're used to seeing it.

Please confirm that this works.
