Are you running anything that requires DirectX? If not, You can remove it. Traktor doesn't use directx.
It's not Traktor freezing. It is something else that is grabbing the CPU and preventing the CPU from successfully managing your audio buffers... thus glitches. This happened to me a number of years ago. It turned out to be both the WiFi and graphics drivers.
You can also revert to a previously known-good configuration of Windows via System Restore. That will remove any additional software installed since that date.
