DJM-400 with Innobender

Good news all I got a working prototype of the Innofader mounted at a 90 degree angle in the DJM-400. Fits like a glove! Lots of cool pics to follow soon...

The machinist making these tells me it's another week before we have a bunch, plus figure another week or two to get them shipped.

Thanks so much to Soulo and DJ Forums for making this happen!

Isn't the innofader like half the cost of the mixer? Couldn't you just get a sweet mixer around $600 and spend your money better? I mean hell Xone 92's are selling for $780 on ebay....

But those mixers still wouldn't have the innofader, something people want.

I know the DDM is the exception to the behringer quality rule for the most part and a good deal, but it's still a low end mixer so why not invest in a good mixer before throwing a nice fader in a budget one?

Lol at the fail in Gerty's posts. The DDM fits the InnoFADER. The DJM400 fits the InnoBENDER. Period.

Did MONSTRÉ delete his own post or was that a mod.

In any case, not to detract any further from this thread, Emarx is always doing stuff like this based on what people ask for. I don't know how on earth we can fault that.

The DJM400 is by no means a budget mixer...given its price tag.
But anyhows...budget mixer or not...the whole purpose of the Innofader is to give your mixer an awesome crossfader...regardless of it being budget or high-end. Not everyone here can drop their hard-earned money on a Xone 92 or other high end mixers which they probably won't utilize 100% of...like you.
I have a DDM4000 with the innofader installed and it served my needs very well....
When I'm ready to upgrade my mixer...which is nearer to end of the year..I will simply transfer the Innofader over.

ok you guys got me, I won't edit my posts, I misread. Alright this is MORE of a reason to get a better mixer, the DJM-400 is more expensive and WORSE than the DDM-4000. for the absurd price you pay for a 2 channel mixer with meh sound and crappy effects you can get a sick 4 channel mixer.....

Without an innofader. Just move on man.

ok you can get a top of the line 2 channel with innofader....

I see used TTM56's for sale under $400 all the time, you don't even need an innofdaer since it is already an awesome scratch mixer with a great crossfader.... If you have to have an innofdaer there are plenty of other 2 channel mixers that can fit it for less than just a DJM-400. It's still a cool concept for people who need to cling to their DJM-400's but who actually loves that mixer enough to upgrade it when they can get something better after selling it?

did you read the first post? It's an innofader mounted in a DJM400, but since it doesn't fit normally the OP had to mount it at an angle (still not clear if he actually means 90 deg). It's pretty obvious from the first post, I mean I had no idea until I actually read one of the posts.

OK, as promised the Innobender prototype. One thing I noticed is that the curve / cut-in / tension adjustments are difficult to access this way. On the production pieces, these will be facing down so you don't have to disassemble the whole thing to access them:

And this shows you how it clears the components inside the DJM-400:

If you're still not convinced, here's everything put together:

Just want to make a brief comment, I think Warren T. is onto something.

DJs often get gear they like overall but want a better or different crossfader. I even have Rane TTM owners who love the mixer but want a Vestaxy weighted fader that's also non-contact for longevity. Selling a mixer is often a pain in the butt, and you may get a little over 1/2 of the original value if you are lucky. It's all about getting more mileage out of your current gear, especially in this tight economy.

The Innobender happened because I kept getting requests to fit the DJM-400. Like it or not, the reality is DJs, especially in the Far East, have this image that Pioneer is best regardless and will fork out the dough for it. Because of the 2 channel format and relatively low cost, the DJM-400 has become a de facto scratch mixer, despite the fact that the crossfader isn't nearly durable enough for the task.

So it became imperative that we come up a solution for the DJM-400. The Innobender concept turned out to be the best way to get this done quickly.

The idea does work on the d.2 with a different bend angle. Maybe our next project?
