I need a Guitar VST... something that feels "metal"

So I've been looking all over online for a guitar VST, thusfar I've found some good ones but, don't quite have the sound that I'm looking for.

The ones I've found are Guitar Suite and DVS guitar. DVS guitar's pretty awesome, I mean it's realistic sounding guitar, no cheesyness, but I guess what I'm looking for is a pedal emulation. Guitar Suite has like 5-6 different pedals, some being like a tube distortion, etc, but Iooking for that "hard rock" new age metal feel. You know like "Remembering Never" (that's the band).

Here's an example of the type of guitar sound I'm looking for. It's on their site, in the song "White Devil", at 13 seconds it starts.

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...endID=99753083

It's what's referred to as a "chug"... whenever you strum the string but you mute it with your palm. The "chug" in this type of music is distorted as well so it's got an overdrive pedal on it.

Can't quite find it or how to make it, and I've found one clean sample (beginning of a FooFighters song) but I need something as to where it won't distort when I change up the pitch too much... hence the reason I'm seeking a VST Or other possible solution (pedal emulation)

If anyone can help out, me love you long time.

ik multimedia just announced a metal edition of amplitube.

if you need something more immediate. i'd go with guitar rig. they have a good choice of pedal emulations.

Funny, I was just checking out Amplitube 2. I'll be sure to checkout this metal amplitube edition.

Guitar rig's a little bit more than I'm looking for. If I had a guitar still I'd be all over it but... unfortunately, got rid of my guitar back in the day to buy some decks and get me into dj'ing. Glad I did but man, do I miss that guitar

Hence the reason I'm trying to get a VST to my liking I suppose Incorporate some of my past music experience in to my production.

DUDE Native Instruments - Guitar Rig 2 is all you will ever need. It will make even the weakest synth sound like a metal guitar

Shit's like $300 though... c'mon, I'm a poor DJ, not a wealthy producer

What's the best place to get it.

Alright well, I've got guitar rig 2.

Can't make it play through the Axiom 61, anyone wanna shed some light on this? I mean, you can use a midi controller through it right? Opened it independently and set the inputs A & B for the Axiom to on. Nothing. Also opened it through Ableton and still couldn't get any sound, am I overlooking something?

?

Got it to work... damn, why everytime I post a question and bother people after like an hour of messing around w/ something trying to get it to work, do I figure it out right after I post it up.

Anyone else have this problem.

Guess I do have another question though. Basically guitar rig 2 is like this "pedal emulation" I was talking about. You need an instrument to put into it, right? I've got dvs guitar which sounds a bit distorted off the bat, if anyone knows of a "clean" sounding guitar vst to use w/ it and you could post up, that'd be aaaaawesome.

you can run midi in for controlling parameters. you are correct, it is basically virtual pedal. you need clean signal to make it work. you already effected guitar sound shoul;d be fine too though. you just dont need to add so much distortion

try synths and vocals
