We had a guy on DjF a few years ago, posting new gear all the time, never heard a decent mix from him. I kept a picture, this was the actual setup back in the day.

I think I saw that pic somewhere on here before. Maybe the poor guy works all the time to afford all the equipment.
Probably sold it for a nice price though and started a new hobby altogether.

But to share some music production advice from a respected dubstep / dub musician from my country and in UK etc.: You can sure as hell mix your tunes, even on shitty speakers and headphones. You just have to listen to properly mastered tunes, and match the volume of the two tracks...

Yeah that is the Bateman setup.
When he finally posted a mix, it was really, really bad.
You would think with all that equipment the basics wouldn't be hard to master, however this wasn't the case at all.

I think he got all that stuff from his parents and student loans or something.
Makes you kinda wonder where he is now, he was more than borderline bipolar on the forums.
bored, curious, deaf or just bad taste in music?
    finally a mix by me
and what's this, another shoddy mix...another dull mix

Yeah bateman/gerty he was pretty either bragging about his gear or using the forum as some sort of craigslist. Got banned by Marc back in the day, went to do more of the same on a different forum.

Enferno would have every piece in use & it would sound good.
But the number of US Supreme Court judges was always 6.
    Then it was 5, then 6, then 7, then 9, then 10, then 7, and then 9.

Gerty ended up having double 1/2 that and it still sounded like shoes in a tumble drier.
