I'm betting that there will not be any more MKII's, at least for the 900's and 2000's. They will simply put out firmware upgrades, which pioneer has been incredibly fast in doing so. Software features and tweaks to the each system will be ongoing for each model until they are stable.

If anything, they'll invent new lines and add hardware features (or take them away).

Like a digital out on the future 850 MkII?

Digital outs are such a loss from the CDJ-800!

@jeansim > That may be true, but look at the number of mixers with digital inputs on them and what price range they fall into, then consider what price range the 850 is targeting.

Didn't see it from your perspective.

But if the 850 is an upgraded version of the 800 mk2, I can't figure out why Pioneer removed features that were implemented in the 800 (digital outs and quick return for example).

If technology keeps getting cheaper and cheaper nowadays, keeping already existing features should not be such a hassle, isn't it? (thus making the costs saving argument less pertinent?)

However, 850 being targeted for bedroom DJs, I understand they might not fall into the same price range as mixers with digital ins. Most people with 850s will not ever have a mixer with those digital ins, so that feature seems probably useless.

But for the Quick return function (which seems to have been move to the 900 if I am right)?

But anyways, for the price, CDJ-850s are a nice choice for a semi professional / bedroom DJ and fill the huge gap between the 350 and the 900.

I wouldn't say the 850s are inexpensive anyways...

but for the price i reckon they are worth it - wave forms, cue markers, rekordbox, large jogwheels, i'd say if you were to get the 350, might as well save up a bit and go for the 850s, i feel like the 350 is the odd one out, in terms of design and how it looks, it has no Reverse button aswell!

Simple question :
Is the jog display on the 850 as bright as on the 900/2000?

Because it looks dimmer on this page : http://pioneerdj.com/index_f.html#/en/products

Maybe it's juste the picture and I know I am being picky but I like to know the finest details about products I consider purchasing

I'm referring that post.

Edit: I don't think it's dimmer, it's just that the screen is flat and not tilted up.
