mapping akai ldp8 to serato question

SORRY I MEANT THE AKAI LPD8

so i saw the tut on here that shows you need to download the LPD8 assign program (cant find the thread right now) and change all the numbers to everything being an individual number or note an i believe i did everything correctly but for whatever reason the PAD and the CC buttons/knobs still have a confusion to what im mapping them too - any shots in the dark as to what i might be missing here

also am i right in thinking only the PAD and the CC buttons and knobs can be mapped to serato - the PROG CHNG and the PROGRAM buttons are essentially useless fop what i need it for?

ive had the thing for a couple of days and so far ive only be able to map 1 set of buttons and its driving me a little mad - there also seems to be limited amounts of info about mapping to serato online...bah!

You don't need the midi assign program for serato ,other programs like abelton you will though. Plug in your lpd8 and serato box then start serato. at the top of serato click the midi button then click whatever function you would like to assign to a pad. Make sure your lpd8 is set to pad and push or turn what ever button or knob you would like to assign. Exit midi mode by clicking the button and your good to go. Since lpd8 has 4 programs, you can switch programs by pushing the program button then one of the bottom pads. Make sure to press the pad function button prior to assigning for the program you have selected.

ahh so ive been pushing just the PAD/CC button, then hititng the serato assign button then the pad i wanted to use - so ive been just programming the one set of pads over and over again lol!!!
i didnt realise you hit PROGRAM, then one of the bottom pads, then you hit assign, then you push the pads or turn the knobs....makes sense now!.
so once all are assigned - how do i switch between the assigned pads when im using it in a mix, i hit program then whichever pad along the bottom row, which then loads up all the pads with the desired functions?

so what do thePAD/CC buttons do then, nothing?

ill try this tonight though- thanks and repped!!

You got it figured out now. let me know if you run into any issues. I have a lpd8 and love it.

Pad and cc are differnt types of midi signals. don't want to go to much into detail but google it and have a long read
