Production Help - dj forums

I want to start producing hiphop and techno beats but what stuff do i need, gimme ideas. thank you. i have cdi 300's and a qd6 mixer also.anyway let me know

youd probably want to start of with software.. check out fruity loops. its a good start...also there is reason.. ableton live.. cubase & logic... youll need a midi keyboard.. if u dont wanna use ur comp keyboard... sound card..

you can produce hip hop and techno with any software...

if you want a drum machine to create ur own beats.. get the stuff from Native instruments.. check their website..you'll want some VST's aswell.. they are virtual instruments you plugin into your software.. and you can make sounds n stuff.. sorry im not more thourough im a noob compared to these guys aswell

if you want to go hardware.. then ill let someone else take over

Get a DAW if you wanna make beats on the computer.

Get a MPC 2000 if you wanna make beats on Hardware.

I do both as well. My current setup consists of:

Custom built AMD Athlon XP 200+ based PC w/1GB RAM w/WinXP SP2
Korg K25 Keyboard
Akai MPD16 pads
M-Audio Audiophile 192
M-Audio Studiophile SP5B's
Cubase SX2
Pro Tools MP 6.8
FL Studio 6
SoundForge 8

And assorted VSTi's and my turntables.
