Producer battle - Hygro vs Funkyfader

    File 1

    File 2

    Rules:
    • **Any genre**, but must fit a pop format. With some customization, that's intro-verse-chorus-verse-chorus-specialmoment-doublechorus-outtro.
    • About 3:20 long. Pop formats have 16 bar phrases, though as dance music uses 32 bar phrases, you obviously have flexibility to give it a 32 bar feel. Additionally, there are dance tracks that use pop formats (daft punk did almost exclusively in Homework) whose verses and choruses alternative buildup-breakdown so that it feels dancey. So again, Pop format, but within that structure, you have total flexibility.

      Voting
    • The ranking will be done in brackets, according to a 3 part score, 1 to 5 with 1 being suck and 5 being pro.
    • Quality of production, mixdown, mastering.
    • Adherence to rules/format.
    • Vibe, creativity, just how much you like the track, freeform vote.
    • Also you will cast a holistic vote on the forum voting software which serves as a tie breaker.

I wrote a big post on this, but I'll save it for after some voting happens because as a participant, I should keep quiet.

Well, I think I know exactly which file was produced by funkyfader and hygro.

    File 1:
Part 1: 2 this was my biggest knock on this track it sounds a little distorted and too filled in.
Part 2 : 5 Kept the format Used the sample nuff said. (Not going to count the abrubt ending)
Part 3 : 3 The sample clashed too hard with the concept and really seemed it needed a lead brought out.

    File 2
Part 1 : 4 Nice and clean mixdown only reason I didn't go 5 is I felt the timing of the sample when it does play out is not on beat.
Part 2 : 5 Pop Format Used Sample nuff said
Part 3 : 4 Vibe was good sample sounded forced but still used well

Overall I have to give it to file 2 as it was cleaner and more pleasent to listen too.
On a side note file 1 artist I would love to hear a version of that where the flip flap sample was replaced with slightly distorted AC/DC - shook me all night long guitar riff sample once this is over.

Annoying as fuck track, but I gotta give the vote to File 2 for this.

    Track1
5/5 - Everything was clear and sounded good.
    5/5
3/5 - The track style worked well with the vocals but wasn't in sync so I coundn't enjoy this as much as I wanted to.

    Track2
5/5 - Everything was clear on this track. Clean punchy sound.
    5/5
4/5 - Vocals didn't fit imo but I did enjoy how you played with the samples.

Even though I favored track 1 more in this battle, track 2 did a better job with the samples.
