    SL1 vs SL3

Might be getting a second set of decks with an SL1 included. Is there any sense in selling it and upgrading to the SL3 other than having the extra input?

i.e. sound quality, other features, etc.?

Better sound quality, better/simpler input/output system, USB2.0 rather than 1.1, smaller form factor, grounding peg.

I had an SL3 and an SL1 and after using the SL3 using the SL1 felt like a bit of a drag and noticeably lower sound quality.

    Cheers. Seems worthwhile then.

I'd recommend it, it's a worthwhile upgrade and the SL1 is a bit dated now. I currently have an SL4 and my old SL1 that I originally planned to keep as a backup and have set up at home the whole time (with my SL4 permanently in my bag) but it only takes a moment to set up my SL4 so I never really touch the SL1 at all any more. Buy with confidence

    Sweet. Cheers.

Yah - my idea was to buy these decks (2nd set) and sell off the SL1 box to put $$$ toward the SL3 box.

I love my SL3 over an SL1 or TTM-57 because

Sound Quality is thicker and cripser
I have the option for a 3rd deck OR
I have the option to record my set
AND I can have an independent output for effects OR sampler

Just for the record, the 57 lets you record your sets.

You might also consider the SL2. Simplified and smaller compared to SL1, and had the USB and sound improvements of the SL3. You'd miss out on the AUX / 3rd channel.

Unless you are short on cash, I would go with the SL3.

Sold an SL3 but totally loved it. Moved on with SL4 and never looked back.
