    Vocal Trance Mix

    https://soundcloud.com/dj-drpx/live-...cal-trance-mix

Hey guys, I really need some opinions and criticism from people because I'm just starting out. This is my second mix, and my first Trance one. Did I blend too much and make this clash at all? Also, my computer had some dropouts while recording, so at really high volume (like anything) it tends to get distorted. Even listening to it at high volume on my studio monitors, it was fine though.

    Tracklist:
Phoenix From The Flames (Club Mix) - Boom Jinx Feat. Justine Suissa
Live Forever (Album Edit) - Ferry Corsten Feat. Aruna
Far Away (Club Mix) - Nitrous Oxide Feat. Aneym
Go (Radio Edit) - Markus Schulz, Dennis Sheperd
Fallan Tides (Mat Zo Vocal Remix) - Mark Pledger vs. Matt Hardwick feat. Melinda Gareh
Not A Lot Left (Original Mix) - Myon & Shane 54
These Shoulder (Club Mix) - Signalrunners & Julie Thompson

Thanks to anyone who listens and Rep to anyone who gives me feedback!

First, are you using a mic input to record into your computer? What program are you using to record?

4:07 area has some serious clashing going on. When mixing trance, you need to figure out what kind of audience you're playing to. A lot of people prefer longer mixes/blends. I'm talking 2-3 minute ride outs. Except in a very RARE circumstance can you get away with two vocals of different tracks laying on top of each other. Was 6:38 a drop out? Around the seven minute mark, it felt like a lot of energy was lost in comparison to your previous mix of the two tracks. I personally like buildups and then long breakdowns in between mixes but just something to keep an eye on. Was that a mix around 10:29? Wasn't the smoothest but not a bad job. Another mix around 15:50? It didn't really flow well together. Part of my problem dissecting this mix is I am not familiar with some of these tracks. Mix around 19:58? Beats sounded a bit off, could just be my speakers though. Damn MBP

All in all, for your second mix and your first trance one it was pretty good. Definitely some issues with level adjustments. Really get to know the tracks so you can work on your phrasing.

Not bad for your 2nd mix! Try to keep those beats as tight as you can! The beginning was kinda off and clashing vocals like what M!TCH said. Way I think of mixing trance is like producing, it has to flow! You did pretty well of track selection though as far as energy. Starting off a bit low and then raising the energy, putting your big tracks in the middle and then lowering it towards the end. Well done! Keep it up and continue to improve!
