Great idea for a thread, if people point beginners this way i think it could help them a lot..

My input would be the Numark Axis 9. Budget and a great deck and feel to it. I used my old ones for a year and never got a single bit of problems with them!

If its for once in a while private parties. You dont need a pair of JBL SRX728s and a pair of $1000 each tops just for that.. Do you?
    I don't think so.

I am a fan of American Audio. I just sold a cdi-500 mp3 to buddy of mine. I used that thing for two and a half years without any issues, and now he is enjoying it.

I've been using the Denon DN-X120 (newer version of the DN-X100 I believe) for about 4 years now... and it's superb. CDJ wise, I have a pair of DN-S1200's... they're super small, built like a tank and double up as decent MIDI controllers!

hmm... 'papiplayboy' was who bought it from me. if that's you, that's funny, and also you need a new ebay name heh

Also, as far as budget equip goes, it's true what others said above: makes you appreciate nicer equipment once you have it. You can make budget stuff work, but if you get more and more serious, the more you spend makes things so nice

No that is not me lol. I believe $50 is about the going rate on the djx700, so i would not be surprised to see many going for sale on ebay around there.

minus the crossfader, I really liked that mixer, a really nice simple layout. I had to older version of it prior to the 626 being a giant graphic.
