So this particular place keeps bugging me about building a night up there. I played a saturday there 2 weeks ago, and you would of thought I was curing cancer and making magic at the reception I got from who actually showed up there.
I started at 9, with the dinner crowd, that dwindled down to NO ONE by 10:30 and they were about to let me go (with full payment mind you) by midnight, but a wedding crowd showed up at 11:45 and they sucked, they wanted it turned down and most likely wanted a coffee shop type of place instead of a bar.
Anyways, the town this particular bar is in, is in the middle of no where. I live in no where and this is 20 minutes MORE into no where, but is the only bar in the area.
Right now they have a nice little area for a DJ to be setup but no sound system. I offered to put a sound system in there and handle entertainment for a mere $200, but I'd be providing guys with skills, not laptop DJs playing Itunes.
They are iffy, for the obvious reasons, since they don't exactly get a crowd each weekend, sometimes no wedding crowds show up and they close early.
Has anyone built up a crowd in a small-ass town like this? Any suggestions?
