I thought the point would be to keep a beat and keep in time but he doesnt really do that, neither of them really do and i think it messes up the flow.

... I love MMM, but... that was lame.
High quality technique ruined by an awful routine... I'm really disappointed![]()
Our concept of "self" is merely the transition from the potential energy in our body into the kinetic energy of your actions.
Thats classic mix master mike right there. DOPE! Sure his music choice is off but we have to "get with the times" right?
He's been doing those same drum patterns and skratching those alien sounds since day 1.
He wasnt always so technical or clean with his sets but thats not him. His style is just dope.
That Wiz juggle was cool but I think he went overboard with it. Trying to do too many tricks at once.

Quite. I don't scratch though & my mixer is 4 channels so it's kind of a redundant feature for me anyway.

I'm glad to know that I wasn't the only one that didn't really care for Mike's video either! I have to agree with Sigma that this guy murders Mike's video. But what does amaze me about both videos are I never see them cue up the next song. I'm guessing that they add all the songs to one track and then let it play all the way through for their routine.
Even the best dj ever DJ Jazzy Jeff cues up his next song. It just looks and feels more realistic than seeing a dj play 10 minutes and never look at the screen to cue up the next song. Just one guys opinion.
He's using cue points via the mixer in that vid, which is now allowed in the DMC comps. You couldn't do that routine as it's done there any other way, as manual cueing/switching records would make parts of it impossible.
I think that's a great example of Serato used well in a battle routine, cos he isn't using the features to replace skills. That's some of the most technical juggling I've ever seen.
