Producer is kind of a broad term. I would give up both to become a successful musician and make music.

    Musician is a broader term.

Dennis, it's a hypothetical to see where people of this forum are coming from, and dreaming of going.

I started DJing way before producing and remixing, so my passion is more on being a DJ than making music. But I do enjoy remixing and producing music of course.

My dream is to be a producer at a show and preform in front of a huge crowd. Never going to give up on that. I'm much more of a DJ but I'd give that up if that means my dream comes true.

    Both, to be honest.

Nothing worse than when a producer gets DJ gigs because of their name then turns out to be a shit DJ.

I have been mixing records for 30 years......and while I have produced a number of tracks, DJing is MUCH more enjoyable to me than sitting in a studio staring at a monitor for hours on end.
