The CDJ-850 will do the same things with rekordbox that the CDJ 900 and 2000 will, and it's cheaper. It also doesn't have hot cues (meaning no stored loops as well) and feels noticeably cheaper.

not entirely, keep in mind the 850's will not "LINK" to RB to play tracks or link to each other like the 900/2000 doesThe CDJ-850 will do the same things with rekordbox that the CDJ 900 and 2000 will
And those features require a lan hub……not a huge deal, but something that you'd have to carry around……or trust a promoter/club to have set up.
Seems like way more of a hassle than just making duplicate USB keys.
How about the Numark NDX 400, as it has a lot of features for the price?
What about the Numark Axis 9, as they're meant to be good for the price? But they look outdated.
Also, people on these forums say that Gemini products aren't reliable, and that their products could break/they aren't good quality. Is this true?
I'm asking these questions because I'm going to start Dj'ing, but I need to get budget cd players. I'm looking at the Numark NDX 400, Numark Axis 9 and the Gemini 600/700.
My budget is about $500, for both the decks and the mixer.
I think the gemini cdj 700 is around 500$ p.p so your not gonna be able to get that one also the numark cdjs are okey i don't know much about them but Numark and Gemini both get the rank of B-brand so quality wise there woudn't be a big difrent. This gemini line especialy the cdj 700 gets good revieuws! The duribilty is i say that right isn't know yet because it has just bin released its plastic but i think its pretty solid from what i hear. anyway the cdj 700 has a way better lay-out also is midi what is really nice and has waveform display its the cheapest cdj to have that!
But to be honist for 500$ you won't get anything usefull or had has to be second handed and pretty bad...
Go for a midicontroller and some software!
I my self am looking for a Denon DN-MC6000 its around 700dollars i think really good(the mixer can also be used as a hardware mixer soo when u gathered more money u can buy cdj's and still use your denon) u can also go ask the form in the digital section for tips for a budget of 500$.
For a real set with mixer and cdj's you would need at leased 1000 and even than its gonna be hard finding good things!
GL hope it helps!
