Detroit Club Scene

I'm going to Eastern Michigan next semester, and as an aspiring DJ I was wondering what the club scene was like in Detroit? Like if they requrie certain equipment, prices, process, where to look for a job, etc.

I really want to do this and was wondering if Detroit was different than other places, seeing as I know the 313 has a proud hip-hop and music tradition.

Detroit has lots of Clubs. But I am not sure how to answer any of your other questions. I am curious about breaking into the scene myself. Also, good luck at Eastern, I go there, will be finishing up my degree in Electronic Media / Film studies in the fall. I like it, it's a good school. Small campus where you feel at home.

Stick to the Detroit house roots, dont try to go too mainstream unless you want to be playing at Bleu or Elektricity.
