the thing i regret most was buying SL-DZ1200's when they were launched, utter utter shit.
My PC. Buy cheap buy twice, as they say.
I bought it used and it's a piece o' shite. New purchase imminent.
SL3,
really do not enjoy playing with software.
Total cost of ownership for a pair of them was $700.
Conversely, the total cost of ownership of 3 Technics and SSL (which I bought and sold twice) was about $200. And they were way less fun to play on.
Ableton with a VCM-600 was–by far–the most expensive experiment for me, but at least it was fun.
My first All-In-One mixer and decks set up. It was only 400 dollars and it was enough to get me interested enough to buy CDJs later on but The tempo slider only adjusted by 1% incriments rather than .02% on the cdj.
I dont regret it because it got me into mixing but It was shit
Numark DJ in A Box
Vestax Typhoon... I got it for about $200..really no good for anything, but it's a fun toy if you feel like throwing some change @ something. IMO not a good learning platform..wish I picked up other stuff or put that $200 towards a Rane mixer that I wanted.
Torq. The sticker drift was bad. The box broke (no sound out of 1 channel) and it took weeks to be sorted out, by which time I'd already decided to sell it. When the new box arrived, I tested it to make sure it was OK, then I sold it to someone on here. The box broke for him a few months later too.
I bought it cos I thought it was basically a cheap version of Serato, even though a couple of people on here advised me against it. I should have listened to them.
Amreican DJ Nucleus. Great light for smaller gigs. But for the price it is not bright enough. I get a lot of people that say it is their favorite light on my truss when they see it all going, but to me a $700 light should be blinding, lol..... or at least project across a good size room...
Also not impressed with the ADJ Fusion FX4. But nucleus is my least favorite
