What I can find on M4L ms pinky says it can't retrigger the same cue twice, but that should work fine with this method. Ms pinky also looks like something you have to install and you have to own max for live and know how to program it to work on ms pinky, but this works off of a .tsi
I didn't know they had gotten it as far as they have though. Looks pretty cool! Anyone used ms pinky? Is it accurate and stable?

If you use a MIDI retranslator (like Bome Midi Translator Pro) you could, in theory, have a single controller communicate to two different softwares at once, so if you could aggregate your audio devices like on a mac or... well, not on a Windows machine very well, you could in theory do this. It would take a lot of work but should be doable.
The issue would be getting the clips to load into Traktor properly, which is why you'd need the aggregated audio devices to do correctly. Wouldn't be fun. Could even have a single command mute the track in Ableton, activate scratch in Traktor and Play as well (quantized), and then you could scratch, deactivate play on release and unmute in Ableton.

The dude who runs AbletonDenver (the local users group) put together a hardware prototype he called the 'scratchbox'. Not traktor, but I think it's what you describe, with Ableton.

Actually, it looks like the scratch box is "post ableton buffer scratching" while this just "simultaneous" because it is simply a volume and track position adjustment in a synced DVS.
The difference is that I'm not really asking ableton or the DVS to do anything "out of the norm". I just get them to cooperate with each other. Mostapha said that traktor could follow ableton's midi clock decently so I'm operating under the assumption that using two programs as they were intended will provide more stability that "hacking" ableton to do what a DVS is designed to do.
