Midifighter Pro is another option to consider. I would personally drop the APC40 from your list. I used one with my S4 for a while and found it to be super-overkill. Something like the MPD32 might suit you better.

Like people said before, you really have to know exactly what you want. Do you want sliders? Knobs? pads? responsive buttons? Find out exactly what you want to do with it and make the purchase based off your needs.

With Behringer, when they have something that tempting I feel like I'm being tested by the gods or something. I just keep picturing myself caving, buying the Evil B, then fast forwarding to a grand entrance at a wedding when it chooses to fail on me.

Yeah, if I wasn't so intrigued by the mapping potential of the RGB on the F1 I would be picking up at least two. Now probably just one...or two...or three...... damn

I think I heard nem0nic assure someone that there really isn't much that can fail on these types of controllers. I totally expect them to be highly functional for the pricepoint. Hell, for $100 I'm probably going to buy a few just to open up and canabilize to make my own controller.

Well for starters, if you are going to use this computer just for DJing, and you are going to get a Windows laptop, no need to get something as expensive as an Elitebook. You can run all software on anything $500+ So that would free up a decent amount of cash for other toys.

As far as controllers, check out the Allen & Heath K2

Supposed to be a pretty bad ass controller to take on NI's stuff.

One thing I like about the CMD is that when you have rotaries, they appear to have indicators for position and I'm assuming continuous rotaries making layers work the way I would want. Seems the reloop contour does the same thing.

Does anyone know when these Behringer controllers are coming out, or approximate prices for any of them by any chance? I don't expect anyone too, but I don't follow Behringer much, so I'm not sure if they released any of this information anywhere.

    Here ya go http://www.skratchworx.com/newspage....nts&fn_id=1886

" So the bottom line. There appears to be some sort of mantra - twice the product for half the price - doing the rounds right now. The all in one 4a is a projected $199, the MM1 mixer is $149 and the rest are $119. Yep - Craig's parting comment might appear flippant, but given the reactions from competitors stopping by the stand yesterday were telling. They're worried"

Nem0nic is a really stellar guy and I trust allmost anything he has a hand in

He was even nice enough to spend a few hours answering some of my more daunting tech support questions regarding the scs.3 system after moving to Behringer. That shows some real strength of character and devotion to a sense of brotherhood beyond company walls.

Those prices are amazing for those controllers! I wish I held out on getting my S2 and gotten their all in one 4a. Still though, I'm really looking at the LV-1 for performing songs/triggering hotcues, fx, etc. and 1 or 2 PL-1. I can't wait until they release these

If its just hot cue and deck switching your after i think the behringer controller would be just fine. I know they dont make the best gear sometimes, but i think it would be really hard to f*** up a midi controller. Im in the same boat, S2 and I want a controller better suited for samples with some sort of volume control for each bank.
