    1 PRX618S-XLF vs 2 SWA1501

    Hi Guys,

What would offer better performance, one JBL PRX618S-XLF or two Mackie SWA1501's.

    Thanks

The mackie is barely even a subwoofer. It only gets down to 47Hz at -3dB. If you had 2 of the SWA's coupled together you'd be looking theoretically at 134dB max spl vs one PRX with 133dB. (note that neither manufacturer stated if it was calulated or tested) I personally would be going the PRX over the Mackie due to a few factors.

    1. Mackie's poor reputation in recent years - Since moving manufacturing to China, Mackie's quality has rapidly gone down hill with reported entire shipents of HD subwoofers failing.

    2. JBL is louder lower than the Mackie
