front wash?

im looking fro decent lights, probably battery powered pars that would light up a performance on the dancefloor, like if you had someone to come out and do a dance performance
what lights are good for this kind o thing? im using led lights such as the wash FX, but i do find that the LEDs on that are very blinding compared with the amount of output they have, i tried my both IR4 uplights and they are worse ,very piercing light off them when you look right into it, perhaps i need something that can be diffused

The key with front wash is to get them overhead and angled down so the performer doesn't have to look right at them, if you can't do that from directly in front then from both sides is the next best option. A diffuser lense can help but then the LED source has to be more powerful.
