It's a brand new computer, zero cookies (I use AdblockPlus/Ghostery), so my next best guess is that I'll just figure it out - I just thought I might report a screenshot for the hell of it

Just a report, I'm going to figure it out (reporting this from the other computer obviously)

Mine does that too. I think that you have to force modern browsers to use http (not https). When the browser renders the http with https, just the HTML text is shown.

I literally just figured this out... and the issue was there for weeks.

I think you're probably right, I thought of that too. Could not be anything else since I tried on a brand new machine. Nevermind anyway, I have all browsers on 4 different laptops so I can easily juggle with that. A bit of a non issue but worth a quick mention.

Going to leave a note to myself when I hop back on the new one, and force chrome into it.

Solution 1 Type in: chrome://net-internals/#hsts in address bar of chrome.

How Do I Allow a Website on Chrome?
To do that, open the desired website in Chrome.

W11 is a pain. I did get two W11 machines and it was a maze of stuff to get through and set it all up. Tough cookie that one, I have to say.

There's been something wrong with the bb software since day one.. I always get a "you don't have permission to access this page" every time I visit the site. Then I navigate to the forum page I want and it's all good from there. But yea, it's been going on for years...

I have it bookmarked straight on the forums page, and another bookmark for the administration stuff.

i dunno if it's chrome thing or a windows 11 thing. certainly a https thing, cos i see the "not secure" thing in the address bar.

i don't really have issues. very occasionally i have to relog in, otherwise the browser has a djf tab open by default and just refresh the new posts.

I just got the wall of text bug in chrome after I updated my wifi driver.
clicked the lock button on the adressbar
    selected site settings.
on the list that appreared, I changed images to "allow".
    fixed.
