New DOTZ Tpar - broken or user error - assistance please

Recently purchased a DOTZ Tpar for a stage wash for a small folk venue. Wanting to hang the lights an use the RF controller. Original RF not working (reviewed with ADJ support). New RF unit sent... same.

Prior to returning unit (at my expense apparently), I need to be sure this is not operator error. I am new to lighting. Seeking assistance from experienced DOTZ Tpar user to ensure my issue us NOT operator error.

I'm not an owner but you have activated RF mode in the menu on the unit correct?

I really wanted to get the ADJ T-Par DOTz unit but I saw a video that showed the t-part sits loosely on the pole mount. It cannot really be tightened so a wobbling affect is possible. Do you have that issue?
