A standalone "sample pad" to hook into a pioneer mixer

I have two technics 1200 vinyl decks and a pioneer mixer. I would like to connect to a channel on the pioneer a standalone device with memory to store samples in. I would like to edit the samples on a PC and then store to the device before the gigs. The device would have pads and/or mini keyboard to trigger the samples for me to play them on top of the vinyl records.

    Does this device even exist?

I would ask if you own a mobile phone or a tablet, but then you would probably say you need squishy rubber pads like a proper sampler.
I'd probably reply what is to stop you connecting a midi control pad that to your phone or tablet via OTG.

But then again you could just buy a AKAI Professional MPX8.

thanks for a super quick reply. you are right on target!

    - own iphone yes. own ipad yes.
    - and, again yes: I was thinking about those beautiful rubber pads. I hope that would allow me to kind of "play music on top of my music" rather than staring at a backlit device and tapping it without a "feel".
    - and a final yes: yes, I have been thinking of a setup of a device+iphone going into the mixer. that is acceptable. which device would do a good job at that?
    - Akai MPX8: I wasn't familiar with that. Looks pretty much spot on. And, dirt cheap! Tiny deet: I would prefer a higher price and a mini keyboard on top of that, in order to do some 80's spoken sample on a keyboard tack...

I viewed a video on oxygen25 and could not understand if it works standalone or not and decided to skip. instead, I bought the thing you recommended: AKAI Professional MPX8. TY so much!

Oxygen is not standalone, only midi controller.

The only other thing that fits your spec is a Boss Dr Sample SP202 or SP303, but they are a bit old and rubbish.

cool. I think I like the ethos "no screen on the device".

let's see how I get along with AKAI!

on another note: where can I post a sample of a track and ask which synth and effect was used to create it?
