What are you buying youself for Christmas?

Today after work, I'm taking a walk to Play De Record to do some Christmas digging. And while I don't "need" any more DJ equipment, I think I'll still pay Long & McQuade (Canada's Guitar Center) a visit on Boxing day to see if there's anything that piques my interest.

    Anybody else?
Ya gotta love corn, it's one of the only foods that says good-bye.

Rep owed: DTR, Pete, KLH, mitchiemasha,

    This year...nothing really.
I got kinda everything I want during the last year or so....electric car, tv, PS5.
Sure I could get some more stuff but it wouldn't interest me. Tools or a new A/V receiver I guess. Nothing really necessary to my life.

I got myself ... a t-shirt. Hardly a major thing. Oh and a IR remote toilet flush. Hygene..COVID..whatever Some kind of stop-gap till I buy a japanese washlet.
Apart from that, I asked the missus for a handmade deerskin wallet from japan.

I'm kinda waiting on the new Ecler mixer. And I just noticed tonight my daughter has bent one of my Ortofon stylii.

I'd better save my cash cos next year will probably require a new sofa at some point. You seen the prices of sofas these days

And in Asia everybody wants wallets (shoes & purses) from Europe.
But the number of US Supreme Court judges was always 6.
    Then it was 5, then 6, then 7, then 9, then 10, then 7, and then 9.

I would actually fancy a proper Japanese chef knife. There isn't quite something like those in the western world.

Germany is also known for chef knives.

As far as Asian tannery they are best known for eel skin products.

Earlier this year I bought myself a fancy proper espresso machine and more recently a new grinder. So no, I don't get to buy myself Xmas gifts....

Plus black Friday new cellphones for the wife and myself....

Here's a good article on the difference between German knives and Japanese knives.
    https://www.gearpatrol.com/home/a336...fe-difference/

I worked in a Japanese-owned and Japanese-operated meatpacking plant. And thought it was odd they sold us German knives instead of Japanese knives. Now I can see why.

Basically, German knives are (softer) more durable, and stay sharp longer.
Japanese knives are sharper but more (brittle) fragile.
