Keeping Track Volume Level Around -6db

    Hey,

I'm having to reduce the overall volume of my finished tracks so that I have around -6db head room before submitting to labels.

I'd love to be able to retain an overall volume of around -6db in the process of making a track, but obviously adding different elements gradually reduces overall headroom. My Ableton Projects are red lining early on in the process.

Admittedly I'm obviously missing something here.

Any advice on how to avoid this and retain -6db on the master whilst producing a track. By the way I'm focusing on tech house/techno.

    Cheers

Group all channels and turn down 6 on the master. Do not normalise when bouncing the track so it stays at -6
