Mobile DJ Speakers (Bose L1Model 2)

I'm brand new to being a DJ. I just picked up a set of used Bose L1 Model 2 speakers. I got two tower and two subs. Anyone have experience with these? There are going for around 2400 brand new in my area. I paid 17. I would eventually like to upgrade to the RCF's with the 15inch subs. Anyway, will my clients be silicified with the Bose?

Many, Many variables. Probably get by with using all 4 (2 tops, 2 subs) for small-medium indoor weddings/events. We ended up purchasing the F1 tops/sub combos and feel pretty confident in doing any size event up to a good 750ish.

Those aren't subs they are bass modules, they cover up into low/mid frequencies because the sticks can't do bass and it won't be a "fullrange" system without them. If you're not into heavy thumping bass these will so an OK job for small to medium crowds.

Link removed, please avoid posting dodgy bidding/finance websites in the future. Not necessary when talking about a second hand set of speakers.

Anyway, will my clients be silicified with the Bose?
Well that's the whole point of the forums, asking questions before you make the purchase. We actually don't know what your clients expect

I honestly have no idea where the OP was going with the "silicified" query.

silicified (past tense) · silicified (past participle)
to convert into or impregnate with silica.

    Is that slang for something?

"Bass Modules" That makes total sense. I'm brand new to being a DJ and I have born yesterday intelligence when it comes to all this. I certainly want more bass. I'm looking at this system like a starter package for small to medium crowds. I want the RCF 15 those puppies are 2500 EA. Crawl > Walk > Run you know!

The RCF Evox 5 is only $1K each.
They have five 2" speakers and a 10" woofer.
    https://www.guitarcenter.com/RCF/EVO...y-PA-System.gc
They claim to have a frequency response of 45Hz - 20kHz.
But the number of US Supreme Court judges was always 6.
    Then it was 5, then 6, then 7, then 9, then 10, then 7, and then 9.

I would agree that would be a much better starter option. I personally feel like the Bass is what really helps people feel the music. Figuratively and literally. I need to offload these Bose and move in that direction for sure!

Yes.. everybody has to start somewhere. The Bose stuff is overpriced for what you get but it seems to hold it's value so down the road a couple years you may get it all back.

You paid $$$$'s, but you have a much better sound quality (albeit somewhat anemic bass) than 99.9% of the newbies that get sucked into buying a pair of 15" two-ways on sticks as their first speakers.
