    Analog to digital

Hi Guys, can anyone please explain how i go from using my Denon vl12's with a Behringer djx750 into my computer so i can up load and record.
My mixer does not have a usb port, i'm thinking i may need to buy a mixer with the usb port, am i right or wrong. I'm a really old school vinyl dj that has no clue how to do this.
Thanks for any help, much apricated.

there's two ways of getting stereo sound into a computer.

:- analog, which means your computer has a line-in 3.5mm socket (NOT a mic socket or "headset" socket).

    :- digital. via USB.

If you computer has no line-in input then you will have to go digital.

If your mixer has no digital output you will need a soundcard which has an analog input and a analog-to-digital converter in it.

Rather than investing in a soundcard or a new computer I would suggest replacing the mixer with something newer. Those DJX750 mixers never had a good reputation, even when they were built over 15 years ago.

Hey Pete, just picked up an Allen and Heath PX5..that should do the trick. Far better sound than the Behringer by far, and with usb and sound card.
