Who makes decent DJing surfaces in the UK?
Any suggestions for decent, sturdy DJing surfaces that can be used for a home set up?

Just the surface? Sturdy?
Kitchen tops from B&Q.

funny you said that, I was checking out a kitchen island from Ikea, but thought it might look a bit odd in a music room upstairs at home.

Well, you probably see what I mean in terms if thickness and sturdiness. the point is, it's able to withstand any sort of DJ setup weight.
For the looks , it should be fairly easy to re-wrap the top with a different finish, or even order with this or that finish that won't end up with a kitchen look.
I have had a wide/long plank of pine for years now, plopped on my (massive) speakers and acting as my computer desk, looks absolutely classy fine and does the job. I think it did cost me the odd 20 or 25 pounds 15 years ago, 9 foot by 4 plank then cut to fit, job done in 10 minutes.
