And likely one last submission for a while. My son is obsessed with Moana right now and I've been wanting to do more of a deep tech/minimal mix so I figured I might as well combine those two things. I've also been messing around more with Serato and this one was mixed live but entirely with the software (no control vinyl this time). Definitely wasn't as much fun but certainly less stressful:

Yeah keep posting.
I had a quick listen to a bit and the songs are really nice. Sounded very "spotify"
As for the mixing, from what I heard, its all ok. Nothing terrible. The levels, EQ and phrasing could do some work. But it all blended together nicely enough.
I'm sure you probably know to drop the bass on the incoming track, then switch the bass down on the outgoing track while blending the incoming track up.
Its just practice. Remember there are no fixed rules for mixing, so don't overthink it. Even the pros are not "perfect" - cos it perfection doesn't exist.
bored, curious, deaf or just bad taste in music?
finally a mix by me
and what's this, another shoddy mix...another dull mix
Thanks for the feedback. Adjusting the levels is something I need to work on, for sure. I adjust bass more than anything but often I'm so focused on keeping the beats matched that I'm too nervous to start messing with anything else. I'l probably post more stuff some day but I've run through all the tracks I own digitally so now I'm just going to dig in and start mixing all the actual vinyl I've been accumulating. Should be fun and I'll hopefully start developing my technique a bit.
And yeah, the vast majority of the tracks I've mixed so far have come from Spotify, haha. Over the years I've kept a playlist of songs I'd like to try mixing and it's a big part of why I decided to start learning in the first place. One of the fun things about getting into the hobby has been digging around discogs and beatport and finding stuff I've never heard.
Also, just tried to listen to your mix but it is "not available in my country"

One thing I forgot to mention is that if you have level issues, you can smooth it all out a bit in something like Audacity (free recording program).
Normalizing the mix will set the highest level of the mix to the highest level, and raise the lowest levels by the same amount.
Compressing will smooth out the loud and quiet bits.
Of course this will alter the sound and a lot of purists are against this. It can make every track sound LOUD AS HELL in the mix, even the quiet parts.
But a lot of DJs do it, and compressors are usually used in big live systems.
It may be useful to experiment with a bit of mild compression on a mix to see the result. For example where critical listening is not the objective, like when doing a mix for a car stereo, having a heavily compressed mix may be desirable.
There are some fancy and expensive compressor VSTs used by all the pros that give very interesting results.

Thanks for the info. I've actually got Audacity installed on my PC but I haven't really messed with it much. I've always been more of a hardware person when it comes to music and production so I'm still figuring out how to navigate all the different software.

Well I wasn't planning on making any new mixes for a while but it's been terribly hot here lately and I'm on the West Coast and am enveloped in wild fire smoke so I'm stuck inside in what feels like a mix of the apocalypse and hell itself. Plus Halloween is right around the corner so I figured I'd make a mix that combines some elements of how I'm feeling.

Well it's been about 3 months since I got my turntables and started making mixes and I'm still using all this stuff, so I guess it hasn't been a huge waste of money! Anyway, I made another mix this afternoon (this one just using Serato):
