    Beginner Mix

    Hey guys,

I would appreciate some feedback. I have been using the 1200s and 57sl for a week now. Some input and suggestions on what i need to work on would be great. I am trying to improve on my overall composition, beat matching and transition which i know i suffering right now.

    Much appreciated

Alright. I've put together some pros/cons and some suggestions for you, mate. Hope this helps
    PROS:
-I really love what you did at the beginning with "We Are Young"
-I enjoyed your use of the beatgrid effect on the first transition, however that transition didn't really have that special kind of "flow" you love to hear in a transition
-You had a very unique and enjoyable selection of tracks...t'was a great blend of genres
-I love what you did at around the 14:20 mark...I cannot describe it, but you'll know what I'm talking about when you get there
    CONS:
-Honestly, I thought your transitions were terrible. Sorry to sound like an a**hole here, brother, but you transitions were just a little sloppy and did not sound good. Try to make them a little more easy to listen to and start playing the other track a little bit farther into the prior one before you completely fade out
-Your beat matching was very off in many places and that too makes your mix sound sloppy and unprofessional (I know you're not professional, but the closest sound you can get to it is great, right?)
-Work on your looping skills. I noticed that you like to loop the beginning of one song while you fade out the other one and that also sounds a little sloppy and it only works with some songs (mostly, hip hop and house music...anything with a steady intro beat)
Overall, I thought it was a somewhat decent mix...you've got some work to do, but don't get discouraged; you couldn't possibly have thought that becoming a good DJ would be effortless. Keep working at it, brother!! I promise you'll get better
