Recording mixes with Soundcloud and Rekordbox

I'm a complete novice (1 week in) and learning the ropes with mixing. I have a Pioneer DDJ400, laptop and streaming music from Soundcloud. All fine so far except I want to be able to record mixes but I can't with Soundcloud as it's a streaming service.

I only want mixes for personal use, nothing fancy or public. Any suggestions on the best way to work around this and record my mixes (via laptop, plug in mixer/recorder etc).

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

Click the [REC] icon at the top left of the screen to open the recording panel of rekordbox. 2. Click the [REC] button in the recording panel to start recording. To end recording, click the [REC] button again.

Hi Pete, tried that but it doesn't work. The issue is the tracks are from Soundcloud so streaming and it won't allow me to record these tracks.

    have you bought the tracks?

Try it with some bought mp3s.

There is no such thing as a free lunch. As a DJ, you will be spending thousands of pounds on music. It goes with the territory.
Just because streaming is popular now, doesn't mean that the artists and the industry still don't need to get paid.
I'd be pretty sure you can't record streamed music, because you don't own it. You just have the right the listen to the stream.

That's the thing with streaming, you don't own the music.

Since people want cheap and or free, restrictions are being put in place.

The trick is: buy your music.
