    Good cartridges for scratching

I've used the Shure M44G for years and have been amazed, they've been brilliant, but nowadays I need new scratching cartridges does anyone know if the Audio Technica AT XP3 are any good for scratching? I know some people will say Ortofon but to be honest their sound quality isn't as good as the Shure M44G which has been discontinued and the Ortofon Scratch are massively expensive. I've had Ortofon before but their styli don't last that long to be honest and their sound isn't great in my opinion.

Did you know you can still buy replacement needles?

I remember some Japanese dude came up with some supposedly excellent bespoke DJ cartridges:

Pretty expensive, but worth it IMHO for the silver case they come in.

Phase won't play records. And there's no indication that the OP is even using a DVS. In fact, just the opposite is true.

Since there is no difference in sound quality if you are using time code.

I am running DVS, Traktor Scratch Pro to be precise but i'm not willing to give up the vinyl feel that Phase thing is just a gimmick in my opinion, it's like those apps you can download for your phone which when you tip your phone sideways simulates you drinking beer or something. I play DVS but when I do dance music parties my mates play vinyl. Audio Technica got back to me about their cartridges and said they can handle back cueing but not scratching and admitted they weren't designed that way and scratching wasn't even considered when designing them, smooth back cueing only.

I'm looking for a cartrige that had the sound quality of the Shure M44G cartridges but also with their tracking ability and there's nothing out there. The Ortofon Nightclub are excellent sounding but awful for scratching, Ortofon Scratch are great for scratching but then their sound quality isn't in the same league as the M44G was, I know you can get replacement Chinese stylus for the M44G and M447 but I need two new cartridges as i've had my M44G now two years and they're worn out.

That video shows only cartridge loudness and whether the phas is stable or not it doesn't show tracking ability at all.

I can understand wearing out your styli, but how does one wear out the cart; especially after just 2 years?

Anyhoo, here's Mojaxxs' review of the aforementioned Jico replacements if you have a change of mind:
