Mixing tracks that weren't recorded to a click

Hi all,

I'm wondering what are some approaches to mixing tracks that weren't recorded to a click - just to give an example, "Stevie Wonder - Don't you worry 'bout a thing".
I'm thinking I should set the track BPM as more or less the average of the track, and then use unquantized cue points and loops, manually beatmaching using the platter, and setting the tempo fader so that the two tracks I'm mixing are more or less around the same bpm.
Other ideas? Comments? Advice?

I'm using traktor if that makes any difference.

That's what most skilled DJs have done since such tracks came out, you answered your own question. BPM is 126.

Right, so the other stuff is also correct? BPM set to around the average BPM, preset cue points and loops unquantized?

I don't do traktor, I just go straight into beatmatching and leave the technicalities behind. Setting the machine to leave it by itself at a set speed won't get it done, that's why you have a platter and speed fader. The skill involved is called "riding the pitch"
