    New! Pioneer XDJ-XZ

I have to admit I love the looke and layout of this controller, but only 2 channels for stand-alone is kind of silly. And it's HUGE

    A few things to clarify:

    1. The direct competition for this is the Denon MCX8000 - not the Prime 4.
    2. The XDJ-XZ is supposed to be two CDJ 2000nxs with a DJM-900, with a bit of the DDJ-1000 sprinkled in.
    3. The controller cannot play FLAC files. (!!!)

With that being said, the -XZ seems like a solid upgrade to the XDJ-RX2.

For worthy reading on this, I'd head over to DJ Worx.

Pretty cool actually. Not a direct replacement for the RX2.. which was so reasonably priced that it was a no-brainer for most people.. this price is significantly higher, but still tolerable for what you get. That you can plug in CDJ's or XDJ's and link tracks between them is pretty cool, if you want to mix on a third deck.

Some setting which are found externally on the Nexus 2 like split cue, crossfader curve, and EQ type. Are tucked away inside the utility menu instead but they aren't things you're likely to change often so that's all good.
But the number of US Supreme Court judges was always 6.
    Then it was 5, then 6, then 7, then 9, then 10, then 7, and then 9.

I read that DJWorx before I posted this and indeed saw them comparing it to the MCX 8000. I just don't see the point of Pioneer competing against a 3 year old controller. I believe 4 channel stand-alone should at least be an option at this point in the game.

But then again, what do I know? I've literally been transitioning to Serato only the last few weeks after 30+ years of primarily vinyl, so take my opinion with a grain of digital noobness

I ordered one. Dont know if it will ever arrive but its paid for.

It ticked all the right boxes for me.
Can be used stand alone with an on board record option.
Some people think it should have been 4 channel stand alone but personally I HATE stacked decks. I like having a dedicated control surface for every track.

It basically has a nexus 900 mixer and nexus players all built onto 1 unit for a fraction of the cost plus performance pads which I really enjoy.

The real question is when will pioneer give us stand alone xdj's with full performance pads? Like what the hell are they waiting on?

The latest news indicate that they would not resume factory production and shipping until October.

    Pioneer statement:

"Sorry, but we don't have any information on retail supply or shipping information. Obviously, with the current global situation, there are massive delays everywhere from production, to shipment, to delivery, and sales."
