I've used and still have both, but haven't used either in years. I've replaced Torq with SSL1 and Mixmeistaer with Abelton Live 8.

I'm running SSL1 on an old dual-core Windows XP laptop. (Which at the time was a $2,000 laptop but now is less powerful than a really cheap Walmart laptop.) It's actually more of an all-in-one than a laptop since the battery on it died several years ago.
But the number of US Supreme Court judges was always 6.
    Then it was 5, then 6, then 7, then 9, then 10, then 7, and then 9.

A lenovo x230 with some SSD and Ram upgrades would be right in your price range. They're small, lightweight, and come available in i7 configurations.

Downfall is most are refurbished or used and you need to upgrade them yourself.

But pretty solid & very mobile.
Hi I used to be called DJZ w/ 1 million+ streams on SC.
I was shut down for bootleg remixes by Sony/Universal in 2014.
