    Looking for recommendations. New DJ

Hi I'm just starting DJing. I'm a mobile dj that does weddings, dances, etc. I'm looking to get some lighting. I was looking at the Chauvet dj gigbar 2. is there anything else you guys would suggest? Would need lighting for around 200-300 people. Tia

If things are looking a bit pricey, this isn't the sport for you. Especially when the said item is cheap. Mobile Dj'ing is more for people who love gear and would be spending all their money on that rubbish anyways.

    Where are you located?
Lighting can be somewhat region specific but I think for weddings of 200-300ppl you will be needing moving heads and truss sooner than later, I'd also suggest wireless uplighting if venues in your area aren't already equipped with it. Some of the DJs I work with use basic DJ EFX lighting at some smaller budget events but that is more the exception than the rule, most of them start with a "basic" system that includes a pair of heads on truss stands and 10-12 uplights and go up from there with additions... more heads and uplights, cold spark machines, video projectors or flat panel displays(TVs), and of course the sound systems can grow quite a bit from the basic 2 tops over 2 subs package.

Yes, non cheaper than the gigbar... at least in the quantity you'd need
