    Technics feedback issue

Let me ask you all a quick question. I noticed sometimes when the needle on my Technics are on the time coded vinyl, and let’s say I stopped the record in the middle of a song, I can see my meters on the mixer registering sound as I talk. Is this normal. The needle is picking up my voice when it is sitting still on the record. Any help would be appreciated.

Depends how loud your voice is.
If you are as loud as a rock concert or jet airplane, then it is possible.

Otherwise the needle is just picking up vibrations from ... whatever is around.

It would take a fair bit of noise just from a voice to create feedback. A reasonable soundsystem...yes, a turntable placed in front of a speaker...yes, a shouty DJ...never. Sound doesn't create much of those kinda energetic vibrations, but jumping up and down in your bedroom will.

Either way feedback shouldn't be an issue with timecode:
The record player serves one purpose only - to provide tracking signal to the computer. As long as the the software is tracking correctly then - no issue.
Also the timecode sound is not the same as the sound coming from the speakers - so audio feedback from the music is impossible.
bored, curious, deaf or just bad taste in music?
    finally a mix by me
and what's this, another shoddy mix...another dull mix

It makes me wonder if my Technics have a grounding issue. Anyway, I appreciate the advice. I just gave my DJM-450 to a friend trying to get going with another DJ setup, and bought me a S9. After that purchase, I won’t be spending money for DJ gear or repairs to my turntables for some time, so I will just have to deal with it or “stop talking”

Joke aside, it's most likely picking up the bass from your voice. What does your setup look like, and do you have the speakers near the techs?

Heheh. Your carts are picking up the bass from your voice, and the speakers being close to the wall right behind the carts will amplify the rumble

Maybe try a little bit of acoustic treatment. Auralex mopads and bass traps may do the trick.

That speaker located in the corner will see you get an increase of around +4-6 dB in the bass department, and feeding back straight into the cartridge, I think that's your culprit.
