With the Electro-Voice system costing so much more (And being so much larger and heavier than the Bose system), I should hope it sounds better.
An EKX-12P with an EKX-18SP is actually $1,798, not $2,529. While a Bose L1 with a bass module costs $2,284. So for an additional $313 you can get two EKX 12P and a EKX 18SP compared to a single L1 & bass module.

That pricing is messed up, here the EV EKX system is cheaper than the Bose L1/B2 and the kicker is it's only roughly comparable in performance to an ELX200 10p/12sp combo which retails for $1500 cad.

    That's crazy expensive for a Bose L1.

The difference is you are looking at the original model 1 with the anemic B1 bass module which looks like it is being reduced for clearance, Incognitos link is to the current model 2 version with a upgraded B2 bass module.

Exactly what I was about to point out what the difference in price was based on. If we're going to base the comparison I was basing it by the newer version of the Bose models since it has twice the drivers in the L2 & with the B2 being twice the size of the B1 it would make for a closer comparison. Even then I must admit to being biased against Bose but not for any stereotypical reason usually given. I just never liked how Bose gives sales pitch on products rather than any actual technical specs or graphs to be able to make an educated comparison without basing it on 3rd party opinions. By this, for example, let's look at what Bose calls "specs" for their system

    Bose specs.JPG

Now compare their specs to that of a traditional spec sheet such as that of the EKX 12P

    EKX 12p specs.JPG

And this is a VERY basic spec sheet without the usual graphs, measurement method used, etc.

There are other issues that come to mind but really this is one of my bigger pet peeves.

That's because I chose the cheapest Bose system (L1 speakers with a pair of B1 bass modules) to compare to the most expensive Bose system (F1 812 speakers with a pair of F1 subwoofers).

    https://www.guitarcenter.com/Bose/L1...Bass-Module.gc L system = $3,060
    https://www.guitarcenter.com/Bose/F1...woofer-Pair.gc F system = $4,196
