    Good cheapish lighting?

Hi guys, me mrs has been getting quite a few gigs now, mendhis and bengali weddings. Looks quite nice, however she wants some kind of lighting either side of her booth. Noe she doesn't really want truss stands because of the carrying hassle, any other suggestions?

There are plenty of options, but it might help if you could post a picture of the booth. I like to spread my EVOX-8’s out a little, but I have a Chauvet Colorbanke mounted on each sub pole...

... Perhaps something similar might work for your misses? A long narrow fixture mounted vertically looks nice IMO.

The Chauvet Color Bank is cool which Bobcat uses. I dont suggest cheap Ali Baba knockoff lights unless you plan to use them and throw them away in the future because no name brand lighting will give you like $3 when you try to resell them, plus they look cheap as hell.

Fatcat is this the thing you meant? Apologies if links aren't allowed here I will remove so just shout https://www.gear4music.com/PA-DJ-and...UaAvryEALw_wcB

Also the first photo made me wonder, is it worth exploring having some kinda light attached to the stem of the speaker stand, is that how it is in that photo as I can't quite see?

The DJ Bank is about twice the price of the Color Bank... You asked for cheap and the Color Bank is a cheap light that works pretty good. Like I said, I mount mine to my sub pole vertically. Looks pretty nice, but not too in-your-face. By the way, your wife needs to get those wash lights up at least two feet higher.😊

No thanks a lot appreciate it! Really like how it looks!

May I ask did you have to get something extra to attach it to your stand or did it come with the appropriate attachments?

Lol I shouted that downstairs she was complaining that she is short lol but she will try her best!

Looks like you already have color wash so why not something like the ADJ Quadphase HP or a Stinger. These could be mounted to a speaker pole/stand and pointed up at the ceiling but I also like to get them way up overhead on a stand, I have a bunch of the ADJ LTS and OnStage dual stage lighting stands that go up 11-12ft. These are aluminum and plastic and weigh next to nothing but are quite sturdy.

This is what I consider as cheap but effective lighting, anything cheaper than this won't have the power to be very noticable in larger rooms. That is an ADJ Quadphase HP on the stand to the right in the picture, it has just enough power to throw colors down over the 60w moving heads on the other stand to the left.

I'm really interested in bobcat's verticle setup, anyone knows what specifically the DJ bank is attached to so it is able to be mounded to the bar?

It's just got a lighting clamp on it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/American-DJ...kAAOSw37tWDr9Q
