Need help choosing new (Pioneer) gear

I'm a beginning DJ but get asked more and more to play in clubs. I want to buy a new (used) DJ controller. Something like the Pioneer XDJ-RX(2), DDJ-SX or DDJ-SZ. I would like something that's close to club gear so I can practice at home and feel comfortable when spinning in clubs. My budget is around $1000.

    Any recommendations?

    Get a DJM-1000.

Best bang for your buck you can get and offer club-feel wheels that are the same as CDJ2k Nexus 2.

    Don't you mean a DDJ-1000?

Got myself a DDJ-1000 2 weeks ago. Haven't regretted it for a second.

The DDJ-1000 looks nice, not cheap but the important thing is that it has the "Trim" knob for each channel. Some of the less expensive models do not have that and instead rely upon the autogain function of Rekordbox. This leads to issues when you are faced with a regular Pioneer mixer and CDJ's or XDJ's and need to adjust Trim yourself and don't know how to do it.... So if your goal is to be prepared for club gear, make sure that whatever controller you use has that.
