    Big News - Technics 1200 MK7

Well, it looks like Technics wasn't done with us DJ's after all.

Today at CES they unveiled the 7th iteration of our much beloved turntable. And yes, it is aimed at the DJ market.

Now, will it have a reasonable price tag?
Or will it have some ridiculous price tag like $800 or $1,000?
But the number of US Supreme Court judges was always 6.
    Then it was 5, then 6, then 7, then 9, then 10, then 7, and then 9.

I hate to say it Windows, but 800-1000 bucks would be considered reasonable for brand new 1200 MK7s. I'd hazard a guess that they'll be around $1200 MSRP.

I agree. I say a price tag of $999-$1099. It will sell just fine. If a thirty year old DJ buys a new pair, they will have it for 30 more years. Still a good investment. This should reduce the used 1200 market.

I guess $1,200 is an improvement over $4,000.
Just like Apple and Bose, paying extra for the brand name is to be expected.
But the number of US Supreme Court judges was always 6.
    Then it was 5, then 6, then 7, then 9, then 10, then 7, and then 9.

That is true of any high-end DJ turntable.

At least they fixed some of the problems with the SL-1200.

I just watched the why I hate Technics video on YouTube the other day. As much as I like having Technics again (had Audio Technica AT-LP 1240) this guy makes some good points....But, I still love my Technics
Also look at Pri Yon Joni response to the MK7...

    Called it!

As for the price, while Technics is still ironing out final details, What Hi-Fi? has been told the SL-1210 MK7 will be £899 / 1000 euros, while the SL-1200 MK7 will be $1200.
    Release date: May 2019
