Bleeding cross fader and channel fader

I have an old numark dxm 06 mixer, and the cross fader and one of the channel faders bleed. I was told that if the cross fader is replaced, then the channel fader will stop bleeding by itself. Does anyone know this to be true? I have inquired about getting the fader replaced, but I'm wondering if maybe I'm better off getting a whole new mixer instead, as I've had this mixer for about 8 years...any recommendations?

Have you tried cleaning the fader with Cailube? That's all it may need. However, if you've already done that and it doesn't fix the problem, a replacement would be in order. Personally I'd recommend an Innofader. They are a bit pricey, but well worth it. And despite your mixer being as old as it is, it will breath new life into it.
Seeing that you're in Toronto, check Play de Record, they carry them.

    No problem Icewind.

I should correct myself tho. You use electronic contact cleanerto clean the faders and Cailube to lube them up. You can also get those at Play de if you need them.
