    Can Serato not handle iTunes AAC files? If it can, then I see no reason as to why you would wish to transcode from one lossy format to another. I would just leave the files as they are if you can still play them through Serato.

    The issue is not with AAC in general, but M4A in particular which employs DRM (digital rights management) encoding. IIRC Apple stopped doing that a few years back and anything that you buy on iTunes today should work fine in any compatible player but this wasn't always the case.

    I think you should try easy m4p converter software, it can Coverting Itunes M4P to MP3 solve your problem.
