    Coverting Itunes M4P to MP3

    good day all,

I just got into DJ'ing a few months back. Loving it. Something I always wanted to do. I have amassed a large number of songs through ITUNES over the years. Now that I have moved to using SeratoDJPro, I want to get away from Itunes all together. But a large number of my songs are M4P.

I see links out there that offer "Free" Itunes audio converter software. But I tend to shy away from those "Free" software downloads. Does anyone have a safe Audio Converter software that they can recommend to me?

    Thanks,

    AJ

He's asking to convert itunes audio files, not to rip online videos.

I use dbpoweramp . Great converter.
    Unforgiving, unrelenting, unrecoverable double beats!

    Welcome to DJF, prez_the_dj!

    Audacity might work too, right?

EDIT: Just did 2m of research. M4P has Apple's DRM. I guess DbPoweramp is the way to go.

Yes thank you. I was NOT suggesting piracy. These are files I paid for through ITUNES before I got into DJ'ing and can't bring them over into serato. Thank you everyone for the feedback.

This might work, but not sure if it'll work with M4P. This method has worked with all my purchased M4A files tho....

    1. Fire up iTunes
    2. Go to the general tab in Preferences and click "Import Settings" at the bottom
    3. Click on the dropdown menu next to "Import Using" and select MP3 Encoder
    4. Click on the dropdown menu next to Setting and choose "Custom"
    5. Click on the dropdown menu next to "Stereo Bit Rate" and choose 320kbps (make sure the files you're converting over are at least originally 256kbps iTunes plus AAC files)
    6. Make sure all other settings are to your liking and press "OK" until you are out of the preferences all together
    7. Click/Highlight the song(s) you want to convert
    8. Go to the top menu and click "File" and go down to "Convert" and then choose "Create MP3 version"
    9. That will automatically convert the file to your preferred format and....
    10. Bob's your uncle

Let me know if you have any questions. The process might be a little different depending on the version of iTunes you use. If you're using an older version of iTunes, once your preferred settings are set up, you can actually right click on your tracks and choose convert from the menu that pops up....

    Good luck!
