Technics rp-dh1200 mobile controller cord fix

    Hey guys,

I bought a pair of technics rp-dh1200s a few years back. I have both the coiled cord with adapter, and the straight cord. Problem is I use the straight cord the most, and the cord is coming apart at the remote controller. Are there any solutions for this?

I'm not averse to fixing it by myself. Replacement cords are hard to come by (found one for $40 without the mic). I've also come by a lot of these which requires a bit of DIY work that I don't know how to do and don't want to mess up.

    Any suggestions are welcome!

I'd get the soldering iron out and do it for $0, it's never too late to learn. $40 for a replacement cable is extortionate if I'm honest.

I have used this company twice to replace some cables with some longer ones where others would not fit i.e. sennheiser headphones: http://vention.org/categories/audio-cable
