    Audio Technica LP-120-USB

Here's a great review of the AT LP120s from our old member Droid-Approved!

    Sorry but...

A friend of mine requested that I work on his LP-120-USB. Upon opening the bottom cover, I'm so disappointed right away at the construction of this piece of trash. Typical Hanpin crap. Everything from the top main cabinet which is completely made of plastic, to the bottom cover that is installed with a lead plate to make it feel heavy but doesn't really have any other purpose. To it's circuitry layout. The funny heat sink placement, cheap pop-up lamp, and the paper weight platter. Poorly made tonearm and many more to mention.

This and all other Hanpin made decks are not worthy in my books and can never be compared to a 1200 in terms of build quality, durability, design (even at 40+ years old), accuracy, and overall value.

    I will post pics soon.

While I agree that the AT LP-120-USBs aren't better than 1200s, the point that the video made was that these TTs are fine to start with. I think that you can at least agree that if someone can't afford 1200s, these will get a new DJ started... and that's ok too.

1200s will always be the standard to which all other TTs are compared.

But the number of US Supreme Court judges was always 6.
    Then it was 5, then 6, then 7, then 9, then 10, then 7, and then 9.

I'm not profitting from any of those products. Maybe you should look up "vested interest".
A personal stake or involvement in an undertaking or state of affairs, especially one with an expectation of financial gain.

Welcome back, Mister operating system. May I politely remind you that you have gone off-topic again, purely based on someone's signature who happens to be a specialist in his own field?

The subject matter here is Brian's (Aka Droid Approved/Hausgeist) point of view regarding a particular brand of turntables. I have watched him spin on those a few times. Nothing wrong with these decks, nothing wrong with other brands as long as it gets the job done. Nicadraus just gave a piece of his own mind regarding build quality, let him speak. If you feel like making yourself useful on these forums, then please stick to the subject matter.

Last but not least. All Technics knockoffs are inferior to the original. Period.

FYI: I never made any profit from this site nor any of its members. My Technics specialization thread is simply for share and not advertisement. I have shared ideas, techniques, tips, tutorials and "how to's" to people who needed them and to those who seek advice in this forum. Never took payment nor asked to be paid from anyone. If I made profit from my work outside of this forum, then it's my right and it's NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS.

Your reason to hate Technics is non-valid and irrelevant. Giving a ton of BS reasons when someone praises it. Funny how you react when another brand of turntable is criticized by others. But your hate for Technics still never dies.

The best audiotechnica is the lp1240 , I would easily place this in the same or better category than a 1200 any day.
