    Question Technique Name

Hello, I'm relatively new in DJ mixing. May I know what is the technique used by Martin Garrix from 48:39 to 48:41 where it tune down for the guests to sing along.
And,possibly teach how to do it? Thanks

    thread moved to "DJ techniques"

He's using a high pass filter. There is no teaching, you have that button or you don't

The technique is called the pre-mix CD. Preparation in the studio removes the risk of an accidents at an expensive risky gig.
bored, curious, deaf or just bad taste in music?
    finally a mix by me
and what's this, another shoddy mix...another dull mix

Yep, this is done with a filter (causing the either mid&high or low frequencies to be "turned off" depending on position). This knob is now commonly placed on mixers and controllers on each channel beneath EQ knobs.

Here's a quick peek at what I'm talking about:

In the pic above, the filter knob has #21 on it.

Doesn't really matter how you do it as long as the sound drops. You can just turn the volume down if you want. Does this even qualify as an effect??

Good question and I would say yes, you can use silence as an effect, every cut in scratching is silence.
