Question Recording dj set mixes for Youtube

    Hello,

I would like to start recording DJ Set for YT. I might need to use the simplest way, cause that what I've got now. Today, I had some idea. I recorded my mix by iPhone 6s to get video, and the whole set (music) I recorded through usb slot in my djm350 for better sound quality. Then I opened iMovie program to edit video in my macbook Pro and I wanted to merge music from usb into video (while the sound from video is silenced) but video looks like too quick or to slow and its not possible to do this by that simple way.
have u got some experience with it guys?

Zoom in considerably and slide the audio to adjust where it overlaps the video until it feels in-sync.

thats what I did, I fully zoomed and Ive put audio to video in the same time, so at the beginning for first 1min was fine, then it begun to slide out, so at the end of the movie there was 3 second delay

Last time I was posting stuff on youtube they became very strict and pretty much nothing was getting through without copyright issues, just a heads up.

Yea TheRabbitMonk has a point mate. Might wanna see about other video hosts with more lenient DMCA rules. You can get away with it on Facebook with an intro and if you post it to a page instead of a profile (i have anyway).

I use logic pro. I would put the video on one track and the audio in another, then use the timestretch tool in logic to match the audio.

Before you waste a lot of time and money, post your un-synced video on youtube and see if they don't take it down first. The way I solved your problem is to record the audio right on the camera itself at the same time. I use a Panasonic GH4 camera that has a mic input. I had to get an adapter to go from mic input to line input. That way, I don't have to sync anything.

i use serato to record the audio. then fimora for the video. then detach audio from video and import audio from serato. i am very obvious about my hit on the play button so i will have a good match point. then export the file for video.
